From the Artist...
Hello! My name is Kayla McCrone and I want to welcome you to my horseshoe art page!
I originally started making horseshoe art as a sophomore in high school, and was known for my custom works. I made my art out of my high school welding shop and, at the time, it helped me to financially support my first horse Cheyenne.
Six years later, I started getting back into my art for another reason. While I still enjoyed designing custom pieces as well as making my old “favorites," I was getting ready to start veterinary school to be a large animal/livestock veterinarian. I was trying to get every veterinary experience I could, while working full time as a veterinary technician. This led me to creating this site to sell my art to raise money to go on a veterinary trip to Costa Rica in the summer of 2014. It was a huge success thanks to the money I raised. We set up mobile veterinary clinics and gave free veterinary care, from vaccines and de-wormers, to small animal spay and neuters. As a student, I did the majority of the surgeries and procedures myself under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian. Not only was this a great intercultural experience, but a huge help to these communities that are so needy!
Since then, I've been accepted to veterinary school in Phoenix, Arizona! I'm here with my first horse Cheyenne and we are very busy...so busy in fact that I will have to temporarily put off my custom horseshoe art to focus on school during the school year. This is a big part of me, so I will be starting up again on breaks from school. I know this is a busy time and a great time to be commissioned by all of you who love my work, but please understand the times I am not making things while busy in my school year!
I thank you all for looking at my site, and hope you enjoy my work. Please also feel free to contact me from my contact page with any questions. Remember, I do CUSTOM work so shoot me a note of what you're thinking and we can design it together!!
